Five people were killed and 130 others injured when a tornado struck the southern Brazilian state of Paraná, according to Agence France-Presse (AFP).

The agency reported in a statement: "The tornado that hit parts of the city on Friday left at least five people dead and about 130 injured.

"Local authorities told AFP that a tornado struck the municipality of Rio Bonito do Iguaçu in the Brazilian state of Paraná.
